BitPerfect is meant to be used in conjunction with iTunes. It is made by a third-party developer (although it is available for purchase from the Mac App Store). Audirvana alternatives are mainly Audio Players but may also be Media Players or Internet Radio Services. What I need is hassle free 100% iTunes integration and automatic sample rate put into my DAC without restarting iTunes all the time. Other interesting Mac alternatives to Audirvana are Clementine, DeaDBeeF, Vox Music Player and JRiver Media Center. Pure Music I tried ages ago but it has a really awkward interface. I noticed there is a new Origin version of Audirvana that does not include streaming, something I might like. Sure, there's a lot of bellls and whistles I don't need. I've had Amarra as well, but it's a lot of money for getting the same SQ.
